Contact Lens Exams
The Contact Lens Exam at EyeLux Optometry includes the same level of service as our Eye Exams but with the additional measurements and doctor evaluation required to confirm that your eyes are suitable for contact lens wear and to generate your contact lens Rx. The result is minimized risk for eye infection, with comfortable and clear vision.
The contact lens service needed might be minimal, requiring a minimal or no change in the contact lens Rx. On the other extreme, the contact lens service may require significant doctor time in high complexity situations, requiring multiple progress visits, such as when contact lenses are prescribed for treating eye disease like keratoconus, or following corneal transplant surgery. The financial obligation for elective contact lens services is not typically covered by vision benefit plans and becomes each patient's own responsibility. A valid contact lens prescription requires a comprehensive exam and contact lens evaluation which starts at $71 and increases in cost depending on the complexity and required professional time.
