Eye Doctors Brian Chou, Jacquelin Le and Kelvin Nguyen are dedicated to serving the eye care needs of San Diego residents.
Rest assured, each eye doctor at EyeLux Optometry is certified to diagnose and treat ocular disease with topical and oral pharmaceutical privileges. They are seasoned professionals that detect and manage complex eye conditions which you probably have never heard nor even knew existed. You won’t find any recent optometry graduates that are here today but gone tomorrow. The retail vision chains and warehouse vision centers don't come anywhere close to EyeLux Optometry.
Perhaps most important, you can trust our eye doctors for a lifetime of healthy eyes and optimal vision. Honesty and integrity are our core values that distinguish us from the competition. Our optometrists will not order expensive diagnostic tests or prescribe glasses, medicine, and nutritional supplements, unless there is good reason.
Dr. Brian Chou earned his doctorate of optometry at UC Berkeley in 1999 and completed fellowship training in refractive surgery management at Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA School of Medicine. He has authored over 75 manuscripts in the eye care industry including book chapters on keratoconus, cataracts, and laser vision correction. Dr. Chou is also the author of the book, Spanish Terminology for the Eyecare Team. He received the Nuemueller Award in Optics from the American Academy of Optometry and serves on the editorial review board for Review of Optometry and the editorial board for Review of Cornea & Contact Lenses. Dr. Chou is a clinical investigator and consultant to several ophthalmic companies, and has served as an expert witness for the California Board of Optometry. He has shared his expertise with Shape Magazine and The Wall Street Journal, and has appeared on television and radio stations nationwide.
Dr. Jacquelin Le earned her doctorate of optometry from New England College of Optometry in 1996 after completing undergraduate studies at University of Southern California in 1992. A San Diego native, her clinical interests include pediatric vision care, diagnosing and treating ocular disease, contact lens prescribing, and laser vision correction management. Dr. Le has a close understanding of amblyopia, or "lazy eye", because her son required intensive amblyopia therapy to avert permanent weak vision.
Dr. Le has provided charitable care to the underprivileged through Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). When living in Merced, she volunteered for three years providing weekly vision screenings to low-income, single mothers.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, running, biking, and swimming.
Dr. Kelvin Nguyen graduated from New England College of Optometry in 1998. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and completed his undergraduate studies at University of California, Santa Barbara.
As a cancer survivor, Dr. Nguyen brings a unique level of caring and perspective to his patients. He started private practice in 1998 in Merced, California, successfully managing and owning two separate offices before moving to San Diego. Dr. Nguyen brings a wealth of business experience to EyeLux Optometry with particular skill in negotiating with suppliers to bring you cost savings on eyewear.
Today, he resides in 4S Ranch with his wife, Dr. Jacquelin Le. Together, they are raising two children that attend Stone Ranch Elementary. Outside of practice, Dr. Nguyen enjoys basketball, tennis, fishing, snowboarding, and biking.
