Digital Retinal Imaging

Digital retinal imaging provides detailed images of the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of your eye. These images help our doctors identify signs of eye disease and changes that may be associated with conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

During your comprehensive eye exam, retinal imaging helps our doctors evaluate your eye health and document findings for future comparison. The images also allow us to show you what we see and explain changes in your retinal health over time.

Retinal imaging may reduce the need for dilation in some cases, but it does not replace a dilated eye exam when one is needed. Our doctors will let you know whether dilation is recommended based on your individual eye health.

Digital retinal imaging is available for an additional fee and is not typically covered by vision insurance.
